It is known for its "ragged", syncopated rhythms, meaning that many notes are heard on offbeats, as though shifting the pulse. You've probably heard of "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin, who was dubbed as the king of ragtime. Here is another popular tune composed and played by Joplin.
